Breaking: Breaking: Yusuf Baha erratic behaviour responsible for unrest, not drugs; Students replies Adamawa Assembly

Some Staff and Students of the Adamawa state College for Education, on Thursday, appealed to Governor Fintiri and the chairman Governing council to demand the removal of the just appointed Provost of the college, Yusuf Baha.

The students also demanded that the panel of enquiry set up by the Adamawa state House of Assembly was biased in claiming that drugs are responsible for the recent unrest in the college.

One of the students’ leaders, Mohammed Lukman, told THE FINDER that the students protested because they were tired and frustrated by Yusuf Baha led management that Governor Fintiri of Adamawa state recently appointed.

“We had earlier on told them that they should please ensure that the issue that led to the unrest is resolved, but upon till now, nothing has been done.

So we have run out of patience.

“We have therefore passed a vote of no confidence on the Provost, Baha. We are also asking the Governor to remove the Provost, Adamawa state College of Education with immediate effect,” Mr Lukman said.

The aggrieved students threatened to block the Government House gate if the Governor did not meet their demand.

“We came out with our beds, stoves, brooms we are not ready to leave here till Baha is removed and a competent and a leader devoid of erratic behaviour is appointed, we are ready to sleep there cook here bath here till we are attended to before we leave,” Mr Lukman said.

Also, a lecturer who pleaded anonymity told The FINDER that the provost’s arrogance and inexperience are glaring and feasible to anyone that come across him.

“Staff and students are united in calling for the provost sack, you there not advise him without him flaring up with you, he tells those that care to listen that he never begs or lobby anyone to appoint him.

We have discovered that this man has no administrative experience, nor he has been given any responsibility similar to the one given to him; the first examination under his watch ended up in crisis; we don’t know what he can get right,” he said.

We await Yusuf Baha response as the text message seeking his response delivered to his know phone number is yet to be responded to.
