Council Polls: Fintiri blows hot, says no anointed candidate.

Adamawa State Governor, Umaru Fintiri, has disclosed that he frowns at godfatherism as he would not impose candidates ahead of council polls in the state.

The governor also implored those nursing chairmanships and councillorship ambition to endear themselves to the people of Adamawa state instead of hoping on him for anointment.

Fintiri made the statement today while receiving PDP leaders and stakeholders at the Government House, Yola.

“I am not going to impose anyone on any local government as their next chairman or councillor. Anyone who wants to be Chairman or Councillor of the local government should try.

“All those hoping on me, I want to disappoint you. I am an experienced politician. I have seen it all”, he noted.

Speaking further, Governor Fintiri said no Local Government Chairman should expect an automatic ticket for the second term.

He said that the emergence of any Local Government chairman for a second term would be merit and performance-based.

The governor added that the zoning principle of political offices should adhere to as most of his appointment considers all ethnic tribes in the state.
