Michika/Madagali 2023: Adamawa Pension Boss Madi withdraws from PDP Reps race

A House of Representative aspirant for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), ESV Thomas T Madi has withdrawn from the PDP national assembly race ahead of the 2023 primary elections of the party.

Until Sunday, Madi was one of the aspirants vying for the plum job on the platform of the PDP, said he took the decision to back out from the race after watching recent happenings in the party.

However, the Adamawa state pension Boss, who described his action as a ‘life-changing’ decision, noted that he had no ill feelings against anyone and urged his supporters to be calm and law-abiding as they awaited his next action line.

According to him, “I am taking a life-changing decision. I want to announce to the general public that having done so much for where I am, I came into the race for Michika/Madagali in 2015 and 2019.

“We lost out in 2015, not because we were not in a favoured position but because it was not God’s time.

“We went back to the trenches to start consulting for the 2023 elections, and that we have been doing since 2019; however, party interest supersedes my interest.

“The time has come to tell the Michika/Madagali populace to say Madi has contributed immensely to the party (PDP).

“I am not pushing further with my decision to contest the election; I, therefore, have withdrawn to compete on the platform of the PDP.

“I have no ill feelings or anger with anybody. I have withdrawn from the race to contest for the House of representative election for Michika/Madagli.

“I am out of the race for today. I call on my supporters to remain calm and wait for further consultative decisions from me.

Although he is yet to announce his next line of action, there are speculations that the leadership of PDP has prevailed on Madi to jettison his 2023 ambition to contest for House of Representative.
