Breaking: NIREC blasts Muslim group over call on Adamawa health college operating EYN bank.

The Nigeria Inter-Religious Council (NIREC) has taken a swipe at the recent call by the Muslim group condemning Adamawa College of Nursing for operating an account with EYN micro finance for admission forms.

NIREC, in a statement by its publicity secretary, Idris Gambo, warned that no moderate Muslim could fault the operation of bank account in faith base financial institution as both Christian and Muslims operate JAIZ bank without hindrance.”

Reacting to the stand of the Muslim group as a show of ignorance and insult to Christians in the country as the Christians grapple with APC decision of running same faith ticket only for a religious bigot hiding under a tabloid to fan the ember of disunity due to ADCONM running an account with EYN.

It further stated that the author behind the story is a well-known religious bigot hiding under journalism to negate the principle of freedom of association as enshrined in the Nigerian Constitution.

Idris maintained that the Muslim group was ignorant of the announcement made by the management of Adamawa state college of Nursing using the EYN microfinance bank.

The statement read in part: “This singular statement of the author of the said story condemning the management of college of Nursing and midwifery shows the low level of the author and how blind he is in the 21st Century.

“For the story’s author to ignore the same faith ticket in the APC to look for cricket in Adamawa state college of nursing is an insult to our Christian brothers in Nigeria, especially the young people.

“It is not only Muslims that operate accounts with JAIZ bank; most Christians and its organisation also own and use a bank account with JAIZ; we warn the author of that story concerning the college of health in Adamawa to desist as his outburst in self-serving and does not represent Islam in any way.
