“The worst gutter statement is calling a sitting president a dying horse,” Kumangar fires back at Ahmad Sajoh.

The director general of media for Adamawa state governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri told a former information commissioner in Adamawa, Ahmad Sajoh, to think about his betraying attitude and apologise to Senator Jibrilla Bindow for calling his act of patriotism a misadventure.

Sajoh, in a statement, said, “The biggest lie in the entire write-up is to say all of Bindow’s commissioners pledged to support Atiku and Fintiri except my humble self. That is not just false but shameless. None of them, and I repeat none of my former colleagues has joined that misadventure”.

The Finder’s fact check shows that most of Senator Umaru Jibrilla’s cabinet members, including Messrs. Mahmud and Barkindo, his former commissioners for finance and local government, say they support Atiku and Fintiri.

Kumangar’s response to Sajoh’s claim that the information commissioner is a serial betrayer is terse: “We all remember that this man called a sitting president (Goodluck Jonathan) a dying horse. That is the worst gutter statement I’ve ever heard. Second, when he was the chief press secretary to a former governor, Sajoh hurled insults at anyone who crossed paths with him, only to maintain complete silence when he was elevated to the position of a commissioner under Bindow, and we all know that loyalty was in doubt, and his former principal knows it.

“This is a man caught on tape hauling insults on his principal as a serving commissioner for information, and look at his writeup again today, calling Bindow patriotism a misadventure. Binani should be careful, as we all know the former commissioner has a loyalty problem.

“We are professionals at what we do.” Throughout the four years of Sajoh’s tenure as commissioner, he watched as media houses fought his principal to a halt. When I was appointed by the governor, I promised to bring all warring media houses to a round table, which I did. My heart and soul are with His Excellency, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, and that is why I could not sit and watch an unwarranted attack on him as my predecessor did.

Mr Kumangar also denies diverting money meant for Sajoh, as contained in his opinion piece: “What happened is that when they left office in 2014, I was appointed as CPS, and he wanted me to give the running cost accrued to my office to him, and I said no, running cost is used by current occupants of the CPS office, not the outgoing CPS, and that is the bone of contention between me and him, not an issue of entitlement.” Kumangar said
