Ex-Governor Bindow Joins Fintiri Campaign Train for 2023 Elections

Senator Umaru Jibrilla Bindow, who was once governor of Adamawa state, has said that he wants Governor Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state to be re-elected.

Bindow, a former governor of the state and a senator in the Eighth Senate, backed Fintiri in a big way on Saturday in Adamawa state’s Mubi North local government.

Bindow is one of the former chieftains of the APC who are having a running battle with the All Progressive Congress due to a lack of internal democracy within the party. Penultimate Saturday, he declared his support for Atiku Abubakar in a campaign rally in Kebbi state.

Bindow has now become the first APC chieftain from Adamawa, northeast Nigeria, to openly endorse Atiku and Fintiri.

The former APC chieftain said in the statement that he could no longer keep silent in the face of bad leadership, stressing that he had chosen to add his voice in support of Atiku Abubakar and Umaru Fintiri’s ambition.

“Nigeria as a country has suffered inept leadership for years, leading to the exposure of many innocent Nigerians to a hellish condition while still alive.

“The only panacea to redress this situation is to first of all appreciate the words: truth, capacity, justice, equity, and fairness while making choices about those who will pilot the affairs of Nigeria in the next four years, which the Atiku/Fintiri aspiration epitomises,” he said.

“It’s interesting to note that the PDP’s support for Atiku/Fintiri wasn’t the only thing they thought about when they were looking for a way to make Nigerians and Adamawa happy. They also took into account words like “truth,” “capacity,” “justice,” “equity,” and “fairness” because Atiku comes from a part of the country that hasn’t had a president before.

“In terms of their abilities, the Atiku/Fintiri team has a great track record of experience in leadership positions, which is a big plus for them.”
