Democracy Day: Together, We Can Achieve Greatness—Governor Fintiri

Adamawa State Governor Umaru Fintiri has extended his best wishes to all Nigerians and Adamawa citizens on this year’s Democracy Day.

According to a statement released by Fintiri’s principal press secretary Humwashi Wonosoiku, the progress made by Nigeria’s democracy since the restoration of civil rule in 1999 is cause for widespread celebration.

The Governor remarked that the successful holding of general elections in 2023 makes this year’s Democracy Day particularly significant.

Since then, Nigeria has made incredible strides, and now it proudly stands as a democracy. He lamented the horrific events of the Adamawa election, in which some elements tried to subvert the will of the people, while praising Adamawa as a peaceful state.

He praised the steadfastness of people who fought to protect democracy by insisting on doing what was right.”We must never forget that you, the people of Adamawa, lit the flame for so much of this movement, this blooming of optimism.

It was the pinnacle of the efforts of those who rose up and ultimately prevailed, as well as those who fought back against the enemies of democracy.Your unwavering commitment to the truth will ensure your place in history. You guys are our democratic super heroes.

The Right Honourable Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri pointed out that voting is only one aspect of democracy. Democracy, wealth, and long-term security are not something that can be given or imposed from without.

They are not given, and one must work for them.”Let us persevere and keep hope alive in the Nigeria of our dreams as we celebrate Democracy Day.”Today, we celebrate this Nigeria.

The democratic and free nation for which our ancestors and some of us here now fought and, in some cases, gave their lives.
