Encomium as former SGF, Boss Mustapha holds Thanksgiving service.

After six and a half years of exemplary service to his country, Boss Mustapha resigned from his position as secretary to the government of the federation.

eminent personalities from all walks of life paid tribute to the outgoing SGF at a thanksgiving service held in his honour by the St. Monica Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria, Yola, under the auspices of Adamawa state governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

Governor Umaru Fintiri, in his keynote address, lauded Boss Mustapha for his comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the country. The accomplishments of Boss Mustapha as SGF are a reflection of his steadfast commitment, brilliant leadership, and farsightedness.

Throughout his period in office, he has worked tirelessly to ensure that the government runs smoothly and that its many parts are coordinated effectively. Under his leadership, Nigeria has made significant strides in implementing policies and programmes that will have long-lasting effects on the lives of its citizens.

As the head of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha made an invaluable contribution. His direction of Nigeria’s reaction to the global epidemic was crucial during one of the most trying times in our country’s history. He has helped spread the virus and saved countless lives thanks to his unwavering commitment to the health and safety of our community’s citizens.

When thinking back on Boss Mustapha’s time in office, it’s important to acknowledge the honesty, competence, and loyalty he showed to the people. By consistently prioritising the needs of the country before his own, he has shown himself to be a true leader. The bar has been set very high by his dedication to good governance and his tireless efforts to promote transparency and accountability.

To President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, I extend my gratitude for giving Boss Mustapha the position of SGF. His confidence in Boss Mustapha was well-founded, and the two of them laid the groundwork for the growth and prosperity of our magnificent nation.

Let us take this opportunity to gather in this sacred space and thank God for the progress done during Boss Mustapha’s administration. Let us also make a pact to continue working towards the ideals and promoting the values he has represented during his time of service to the country. His achievements should serve as motivation for all of us; we should all strive to be as committed to Nigeria’s future as he was.

Speaking on behalf of the Nigerian government, Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, lauded Boss Mustapha for his ingenuity in promoting Nigeria and his massive contribution to the country’s development.

We couldn’t function without Boss Mustapha’s ingenuity in moving Nigeria forward. We wanted to offer our respects in person. He’s a truly great human being. And on behalf of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I want to wish Boss Mustapha the best of luck in achieving all of his goals,” he added.

Responding to the honour, Boss Mustpha thanked the event’s organisers and pledged to continue his support for the country and the diplomatic community. He also acknowledged the support and prayers of the people of Adamawa State throughout his leadership.

In addition to the host, the federal permanent secretary, Senators, and members of the House of Representatives were in attendance, as was the former governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalaong, as well as the former governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu.
