Tinubu Arrives In Abuja From COP28 Summit .

On Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu travelled back to Abuja from Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), where he had attended the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference.

In addition to attending the conference, the president met with King Charles of England, the president of the United Arab Emirates, and other heads of state and international organisations for bilateral discussions and the formalisation of partnerships.

On the fringes of the COP28 climate summit, President Tinubu observed the signing of an accelerated performance agreement between Germany and Nigeria to enhance Nigeria’s power supply. He also hosted a high-level meeting with investors and stakeholders regarding the Nigerian carbon market and the electric bus rollout programme.

In preparation for the summit, which is scheduled to conclude on December 12, 2023, Tinubu left Abuja for Dubai on November 29, 2023.

Despite claims that it only paid for 422 attendees, the Tinubu administration came under fire for sending 1,411 registered delegates from Nigeria to the summit, a number that many saw as excessive.
