Ondo Conscience Movement urges Aiyedatiwa to follow the law.

The Ondo State Conscience Movement (OCM), a socio-political organisation, has advised Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa to always allow the rule of law to reign supreme as he navigates the state’s affairs following Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu’s death.

Mr. Shalom Olaseni, the movement’s leader, delivered the advice in a congratulatory and condolence statement addressed on Thursday to the Ondo State Government and the family of former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.

“May Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s indomitable spirit inspire and steer the state towards an era of prosperity under the sage guidance of the new governor,” he stated.

Akeredolu passed away on Wednesday after a long illness.

He delegated authority to his previous deputy, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to handle state activities through the State House of Assembly last week.

Working in compliance with the law, according to Olaseni, will allow Aiyedatiwa to establish an era of unity, progress, and improved welfare for the people.

“During this transitional moment, we ask Governor Aiyedatiwa to climb with courage, justice, and a firm commitment to good governance principles.”

“The problems that lie ahead require not simply a leader, but a visionary who can manage our state’s complexities with sagacity and impartiality.”

“We urge Governor Aiyedatiwa to grasp this chance to establish responsive governance and leadership that reflect the people’s aspirations.”

“Selecting a cabinet comprised of only the best and most capable minds will be critical in carrying on Governor Akeredolu’s legacy.”

“Recognising the leadership vacuum left in the wake of serious health concerns and political schisms,” he continued, “we urge the new governor to quickly address this by appointing a deputy governor within the legally mandated time frame.”

He prayed for the incoming governor’s success in his difficult path as the state’s number one citizen, while urged Akeredolu’s family to find comfort in God following the death of the state’s beloved former governor.

According to Olaseni, the state administration and the hardy people of Ondo are still reeling after the unexpected death of their beloved former governor.

Akeredolu’s unyielding spirit, resilience, and perseverance in the face of bad health’s merciless hold have left an indelible impact in the hearts of Ondo people.

“Governor Akeredolu, a model of steadfast resolve, traversed the turbulent waters of his sickness with grace and tenacity, exhibiting the very essence of leadership.”

“Today, we bend our heads in reverence, remembering his persistent efforts to secure the lives of Ondo State inhabitants, especially through the visionary Amotekun programme.”

“In this regard, his legacy is more than simply a chapter in our history; it is a living witness to the tenacity of a man who spoke truth to power.”

“As we grieve the demise of a political titan, the Ondo State Conscience Movement stands in unshakable solidarity with those deeply affected by this tragedy.”

“We pay tribute to Governor Akeredolu’s excellent service, foresight, and the enduring influence of his leadership, and pledge to carry the torch of his values into the future,” Olaseni said.
