Dangote Expresses Gratitude to Tinubu and Others as Refinery Commences Production
President of the Dangote Group Aliko Dangote praised President Bola Tinubu’s support after the Dangote refinery started producing diesel and aviation fuel.
On Saturday, Dangote released a statement in which he credited Tinubu, saying that the initiative would not have been possible without Tinubu’s support and guidance.
President Bola Tinubu has been instrumental in realising our vision, and for that, we are eternally grateful. His “visionary leadership” and “rapid attention to detail” were crucial to the success of the production, he claimed.
Dangote, who was overjoyed, extended his gratitude to the Nigerian people, the Nigerian government agencies involved in the historic project, and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Limited) for their support and belief.
In addition, we appreciate the backing of the NNPC, NUPRC, and NMDPRA. These groups have been our rock-solid allies during this historic expedition. We are grateful to the Nigerian people for their faith and backing of this endeavour. Once we acquire the necessary regulatory clearances, we will put our diesel and aviation fuel products on the market within this month,” Dangote stated. Production of these products has already begun.
As Dangote put it, it was a “great day for Nigeria” when production got underway at the plant on Friday.
For Nigeria, today is a monumental day. We are overjoyed to have accomplished this major goal. We have proven time and time again that we can plan and execute massive infrastructure projects, so this is a major victory for our nation,” he continued.
“The realisation of this initiative has brought me great fulfilment, and it will undoubtedly change the game for our country.”
“Our bankers and financiers, both local and offshore, showed tremendous patience in seeing us through many difficult moments,” he added, thanking them as well. At the same token, we’d want to express our gratitude to Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Lagos State government for their extraordinarily proactive responses to the numerous problems that arose during the course of this project’s execution. He has my deepest gratitude.
