Aiyedatiwa Sacks All Commissioners Appointed by Akeredolu
On Wednesday, Ondo State’s Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa dissolved the State Executive Council, effective immediately.
The late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu appointed the members of the Cabinet, who now have the order to immediately hand over their positions to the Permanent Secretaries or the most senior administrative officers in their respective offices, according to Ebenezer Adeniyan, the governor’s spokesman.
Aiyedatiwa also delegated all responsibilities to the special assistants and senior special assistants.
The impacted officials are hereby ordered to relinquish any and all government property that they may own.
“The Governor extends his gratitude to the impacted authorities for their invaluable service and significant contributions to the advancement of our state.”
After Akeredolu passed away on December 27, 2023, Aiyedatiwa, who had previously served as the deputy governor of Ondo, was sworn in as the new substantive governor of the South-West state.
A few of Akeredolu’s friends in the Ondo State House of Assembly managed to evade the former deputy governor while the former governor was ill with an impeachment conspiracy.
