Supreme Court Reserves Judgement on Binani’s Suit Against Adamawa Governor
An appeal by Aisha Dahiru, also known as Binani, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) against Ahmadu Fintiri, the governor of Adamawa State, has been saved for a future ruling by the Supreme Court.
The petition filed by Binani, who was contesting Finitiri’s triumph in last year’s governorship election, was rejected by both the tribunal and the Court of Appeal.
The five-person panel, presided over by John Okoro, deferred the case for judgement after hearing the arguments of the parties.
Akin Olujimi, Binani’s counsel, argued at the day’s proceedings that the controversial statement made by the rogue REC, Hudu Ari, was within the law.
