Court stops Benue APC Chairman from parading himself as party chair.

A Benue State High Court has ordered Austin Agada, the suspended state chairman of the All-Progressives Congress (APC), to refrain from acting as the party’s chairman after being suspended by his ward chairman and six others on Tuesday.

This comes as the state’s APC has accused the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Benue State, Paul Biam, and the Commissioner for Water Resources, Environment, and Climate, Ugwu Odoh, of leading policemen and the army to attack the party’s secretariat during a press conference held by the Owukpa Ehaje Ward One chairman and executive members.

Pandemonium erupted as plainclothes security officers stormed the press conference location, attacking everyone in sight.

The APC chairman of Owukpa Ehaje Ward One revealed that the entire executive committee was at the secretariat to give a vote of confidence in the chairman and distance themselves from those who had suspended him.

Meanwhile, Agada informed journalists that the attack was motivated by a plot to drive him out as chairman due to charges of anti-party activity.
