Archbishop Musa urges government to shoulder its obligations in light of the rising cost of living.

Most Rev. Musa Panti Filibus, PhD, Archbishop of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN), has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the current administration to accept responsibility and find ways to alleviate Nigerians’ severe economic hardships.

Musa made the announcement while kicking off the church’s 2024 annual conference at the covenant site in Demsa Local Government Area, Adamawa State.

He believes that increased insecurity, high living costs, widespread unemployment, and political instability endanger the country’s peace and tranquillity.

“It is highly upsetting and difficult to provide counsel in light of the challenges people are experiencing,” he remarked, lamenting the country’s dire situation.

“Commodity prices are rising, and the lives of the most vulnerable are in danger as a result of widespread violence, kidnappings for ransom, and the murder of innocent people.

The most recent awful images show the savage massacre of innocent people, including toddlers carried on their mothers’ backs, in Plateau State.

As a result, he urged President Tinubu to step up his efforts to combat the menace and punish the culprits and financiers responsible for the bloodshed in the country.

The Most Reverend Filibus warned his congregation that the country must not bow to those who create discord and agitate its people, no matter how dire the situation becomes.

However, their faith must remain unshakable and undisturbed. “We should turn to each other, aiding and supporting one another. Instead, he said, “We risk turning against each other.”

Continue to pray for our government and stop spreading the tragic message that “Nigeria is beyond redemption; believe in God for his salvation.” After all, God’s word is authentic, so there’s no reason to mistrust our faith.

During the ceremony, the Archbishop used the opportunity to thank the congregation for their ongoing commitment and support of his administration, highlighting their role in making the university possible.

He informed them that the church is looking forward to its centenary convention in 2025, which started with their relatives’ voyage to Lamurde in 1925.So you should accompany them while they prepare for the big party.

Musa thanked God for sustaining momentum, praised member churches for their ecumenical understanding and mutual support, and expressed gratitude to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his church support.

The service’s highlights were praise songs and patriotic prayers.
