Observance of Ramadan: Fintiri Stresses the Importance of tolerance and proper behaviour
Rt.Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, governor of Adamawa state, has reiterated the importance of religious tolerance and law compliance in preserving social order.
Fintiri apparently requested Muslims around the world to fast during Ramadan in 2024, according to Humwashi Wonosoiku, the chief press secretary of the governor. He asked Allah to put a stop to the violence and terrible things occurring in the country before the start of the fast and to modify people’s attitude during the fast.
Governor Fintiri has also thanked Almighty Allah for deciding that all living beings should observe another Ramadan fast. “When a Muslim observes fasting, he gets empathetic to his fellow creatures,” he observed, wishing everyone a blessed Ramadan.
He added that during Ramadan, people should not only fast, but also be moderate and not do anything that is against the law.
Sermons and messages delivered throughout Ramadan broaden people’s perspectives, which in turn could help address many societal problems. Among Ramadan’s many advantages are the opportunities it presents for learning and the end of ignorance.
He emphasised that the holy month of Ramadan is an opportunity to end poverty and called on the Ummah to pay zakat regularly.
