Governor Fintiri Reviews commercial tricycle movement order during Ramadan.
Adamawa State’s governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has reevaluated the ban on Keke Napep, or tricycles, in the Yola North, Yola South, and Girei council districts.
The directive has been revised to start from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily during the Ramadan Fast, instead of 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., and the review is effective immediately.
“The development is to enable the Muslim faithful to join in tafsir sessions during the period,” revealed Humwashi Wonosoiku, the chief press secretary to the governor.
Adamawa State Restriction of mobility of Tricycles and Motorcycles Executive Order No. 1 of 2021, issued in February 2021, restricted the mobility of operators in three local councils.
The reassessment of the movement restriction is necessary because the government wants Muslim faithful to be able to practice Tafsir unimpeded at their different mosques during Ramadan.
Nevertheless, Governor Fintiri has ordered the state’s security agencies to increase the number of service personnel stationed around the state, particularly in the Yola North, Yola South, and Girei councils, in order to better protect the lives and property of the people living there. Anyone found wanting will be held accountable according to Fintiri’s warning.
The state’s peace enterprise has been a resounding success, and the governor is pleading with the people to remain living in harmony and build upon the togetherness and peaceful coexistence for which they are famous.
