But in a statement issued on Thursday, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy argued that public responses demonstrated that the nominations did not represent the federal nature of the nation because certain states received several nominations while others received only one.
“President Tinubu has acknowledged the input from all throughout the nation by ordering a thorough review of the membership list.
“President Tinubu is committed to ensuring strict compliance with the principle of federal character as ingrained in the constitution,” Onanuga stated.
In addition, he said, the assessment will include national distribution to make sure that every region of the nation is fairly represented.
The nomination of governing boards throughout Federal Tertiary Institutions was criticised on Tuesday by the Bauchi zone of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
They maintained that the administration headed by Bola Tinubu would be better off restoring the previously disbanded members.
