Adamawa Not Available For Planned Protest, Fintiri warns NANS faction
Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, governor of Adamawa State, has issued a stern warning about upcoming protests, stating that the state of Adamawa is not a suitable venue for such events.
The state’s residents were praised by Fintiri through his chief press secretary, Humwashi Wonosoiku, for their non-participation in the end bad government protest last month.
However, Fintiri cautioned a faction of the National Association of Nigerian Students in Adamawa state against participating in any demonstrations over the recent increase in premium motor spirit prices.
Those who wish to demonstrate on the 16th should know that Adamawa is not a suitable venue, he warned, pleading with the factional group of NANS to abstain from the planned demonstration.
The problems afflicting Nigeria right now, the governor asserts, require the combined efforts of all decent Nigerians, not just those who want to stage a demonstration.
In addition, he stated that the student faction that has rallied behind the protest isn’t acting in the state’s best interest but rather is acting in their own self-interest.
The president Bola Tinubu administration is doing all it can to alleviate poverty and enhance living conditions for all inhabitants, according to Fintiri, who acknowledged the widespread poverty in the country.
Perseverance with the Federal Government was, hence, urged by him upon the Nigerian people.
Fintiri has issued a warning against the planned protest for the second time in two months.
Due to the government’s twin policies of removing petrol subsidies and unifying FX windows, food and basic commodity prices have soared in recent months, causing one of the greatest inflation and economic crises in Nigeria.
