Christmas: Rep. Nyampa urges Christians to pray for Fintiri, others.

As Christians across the country commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ, Hon. Dauda Nyampa, the member for Michika/Madagali in the House of Representatives, has requested further prayers for Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s efforts to rebuild a new Adamawa.

According to the lawmaker, the Holy Bible advises Christians to pray for those in positions of authority, and the Christmas season was one of the ideal times to emulate Christ and follow His teachings.

In a statement signed and distributed on Tuesday to honour Jesus Christ’s birth, Nyampa also urged Adamawa inhabitants to pray for all Adamawa authorities.

Nyampa stated, “Rather than murmuring, criticising, or castigating those in power, as Christians, we are taught to always pray for our leaders and those in positions of authority, and it is only when the leader is at peace that he can settle down for the business of governance and administration.

“Since any decision taken from the top has ripple effects on all of us, down the line and to the least person amongst us, we owe it as an obligation to pray for wellness, good judgement, safety, grace and success for the governor and all our leaders, across the levels.”.

On Michika’s recent designation as a chiefdom, Nyampa praised the peaceful atmosphere that pervaded the bill from the House of Assembly to the governor signing it into law, claiming that the period of Adamawa tribe inferiority complex was past.

This, Nyampa attributed to the governor and his team’s great strides “in their efforts to return Adamawa to near zero insurgencies and banditry.”

Nyampa, who represents Adamawa State’s Michika/Madagali Federal Constituency, stated, “It gladdens my heart that Adamawa residents are celebrating Christmas in peace this year, with no reports of attacks anywhere.”

Even areas that were previously recognised as hotspots for insurgent strikes throughout the holiday season are now quiet.

While wishing his constituents a good Christmas, Nyampa also wished Governor Fintiri a wonderful holiday season.
