New Year: Fintiri to Nigerians: Trust in Nigeria Project

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has urged Nigerians to believe in the nation and its ambition. He remarked, “Nation, we have a lot to be thankful for in 2024.”

The governor expressed optimism for 2025, saying, “The hope, dreams, and expectations must not be lost; we must resolve this New Year to return to ourselves and give impetus to them.”

Governor Fintiri grieved the people’s struggles, saying, “I am happy that when things got hard, the people of Adamawa, in the spirit of being their brother’s keeper, were there for each other.”

He said the state government had to interfere as economic hardship raised the cost of life, providing much-needed relief through poverty alleviation measures. As we enter the New Year, our government will develop an inclusive economy.

Our state will continue to attract historic investments.” Governor Fintiri also told residents that his administration will increase security and advance the state to make communities safer.

We shall keep helping our people by making life cheaper.Let’s support each other in 2025 and achieve a brighter future for everyone.” We must first define our desired future.

Only by agreeing on this can we unite to build the Nigeria of our dreams. The governor believes most of Nigeria’s problems are man-made and demands citizen action.

He urged people to avoid religious and ethnic bigotry, which causes the nation’s problems. Given everything we’ve been through in the past year, maybe it’s time to go within to find the root of our problems.

“Whether it is the economic downturn or our security situation, the challenges are traceable to ourselves,” he said.

We must recreate Adamawa’s unity of purpose by saying that the people should derive strength from its variety. He stated Nigerians were once just regardless of tribe, tongue, or religion.

“Our myopic selves and group interests have created an octopus that threatens to devour our collective heritage. Ethnic and religious hostility permeate this octopus.

In the New Year, Governor Fintiri reiterated the administration’s commitment to projects and policies that would improve lives. Governor Fintiri said his 11- and now 8-point program has created thousands of jobs through several projects.

He said the government’s 2025 plans to irrigate acres of land will create more jobs. The Governor reiterated his government’s commitment to inclusive growth and improving lives.

“We shall do so—be it by legislation or policy that transforms our political, economic, or social structures to accelerate growth.” He reassured people that security is a shared duty and that the sacrifices made so far will not be compromised.

“We salute the courage of our uniformed personnel and other stakeholders in maintaining peace; I call on all to play their part in making our shared dream of growth and prosperity a reality.”

Governor Fintiri also urged everyone to work with the government to improve Adamawa State.

“We must avoid parochial and divisive politics and embrace a culture that will define us positively in the next years and beyond; our national agenda must be progressive, issue-based, and people-orientated.” Fintiri said.
