PDP crisis: ‘I’ve resumed; let’s rebuild our party.’ Anyanwu

Senator Samuel Anyanwu, National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has extended gratitude to party leaders, particularly the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, for his support during the National Secretary position issue.

Anyanwu confirmed to Saturday Vanguard late on Friday that he had resumed office and stated that he held no grudges towards those who opposed him, as he was now more prepared than ever to engage with like-minded party members to rebuild the party.

Speaking shortly after resuming office, Anyanwu urged party officials to prioritise the party’s interests over their own and seek to strengthen the PDP ahead of 2027.

He elaborated: “I resumed work soon after the Supreme Court judgement earlier today.”I want to thank my leaders across the country—PDP faithful and those who stood for the truth. I also want to thank those who put me in this situation; it has only made me stronger.

While thanking everyone who supported him, he singled out Wike for special consideration. He expressed specific gratitude to Wike.
He went on: “I want to thank in a massive special way my friend and my leader, the honourable minister for FCT, who also believed in and supported me and gave me encouragement.”

He also praised the support of other PDP governors who supported him during the court proceedings.
Anyanwu acknowledged the obstacles that lay ahead for him and the party but expressed optimism that all would be OK sooner rather than later.
