Fintiri lauds DSS for rescuing kidnapped Catholic priest.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on Friday saluted the efforts of the Department of State Services (DSS) in rescuing the two abducted Catholic priests in Numan.

The governor praised the DSS for their valiant efforts to rescue the two kidnapped Catholic priests, describing them as Adamawa’s heroes, according to a statement issued by his chief press secretary, Humwashi Wonosoiku.

“I have received the heartwarming news of the rescue of the two Catholic priests by the DSS.” I thank the DSS for their tireless efforts to secure Nigeria’s people and territory. You are our hero.

Governor Fintiri stated that his administration will continue to prioritise the safety of people and property, making it difficult for criminals to operate.

“We will not spare anybody found wanting, no matter who you are.”
He praised DSS operatives for their prompt response, which resulted in the rescue of Rev. Fathers Matthew David Dusami and Abraham Samman, as well as the arrest of the suspect, Tahamado Jonathan Damien, a church member.

The governor stressed the significance of sharing intelligence and working with other law enforcement authorities.

He believes that efforts by the DSS, police, armed forces, and others will give investors and residents confidence to live and invest in the state, as peace and security are essential for socioeconomic development.

According to the statement, the victims were abducted from their convent apartment in Gweda Mallam, Numan.
