‘Expose Us,’ Nenadi Usman Challenges Abure Following Threats to Obi, Otti

Nenadi Usman, the Labour Party’s (LP) Caretaker Committee Chairperson, has dared Julius Abure to expose Peter Obi, Alex Otti, and other high-ranking members of her group.

Abure, the LP’s factional National Chairman, challenged Obi and Otti on Monday to name party members who allegedly got funding for the 2023 elections.

“I am waiting for them, from top to bottom, to make any other move, and I will open my mouth,” stated the leader.

“And when I open my mouth, wherever they go to, they will be like smelly eggs, rotten eggs that nobody will ever buy.”

Usman ignored Abure’s threats and asked him to present any evidence he claims to possess.

She stated that the LP has records of Abure’s behaviour and that some of them are already being investigated by police.

“So, I’m challenging him to reveal us. If you have someone to expose, don’t talk about it right now; go expose them,” she urged.

“We have a lot of information about him, and that is why the victims went to the police,” she informed us. “The police are investigating him, and very soon you will hear about it.”

The former finance minister also labelled the present crisis in the LP as an attack on internal democratic values.

“Generally, you would agree with me that every democracy needs a strong opposition. So, when the opposition is keen to join the ruling party, there is a dilemma. And that’s where we are now,” she said.

Usman argued that Abure’s term as LP national chairman had ended, and the party had taken action to fill the leadership vacancy as directed by the INEC.

“Primarily, the Labour Party leadership had concerns with INEC since Abure and his NWC’s terms had expired.

“This is why, when INEC invited the leaders of political parties, he attended the meeting and was instructed to step out with his secretary,” according to her.

Usman said that, following the INEC event, Abure went to court and obtained a verdict requiring INEC to recognise him.
