FG Declares June 6-9 Holidays to Mark Eid-ul-Adha Celebrations

The federal government has proclaimed Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays to commemorate this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebrations.

Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, made the announcement on behalf of the Federal Government on Monday, according to a statement issued by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani.

Tunji-Ojo congratulated the Muslim Ummah both at home and in the Diaspora on this special day.

He urged the Muslim Ummah to continue imbibing the spirit of sacrifice and faith demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him), as well as to use the occasion to pray for a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.

He promised Nigerians that the people-oriented reforms and actions implemented as part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda will put Nigeria back on track.

“While wishing the Muslim Ummah a happy Eid-ul-Adha celebration, the minister urged all Nigerians to join hands with the present administration in its efforts to restore the glory of Nigeria as a great nation,” according to the statement.
