Defection: ‘We’ll Fully Accommodate You,’ APC Welcomes Gov. Eno

The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress has expressed its satisfaction at Umo Eno, Governor of Akwa Ibom State, defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party to the APC.

The party characterised Uno’s defection as a wise decision that would benefit Akwa Ibom State and its people.

In a statement by the National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, on Friday captioned “APC Welcomes Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, Into Party”, the party assured the governor that they would accommodate him completely.

The statement said, “The National Working Committee of All Progressives Congress (APC) under the leadership of His Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is thrilled with the news that Umo Eno, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, has chosen to join our great party.”

“We are convinced that his wise decision will benefit Akwa Ibom state and people.

“Our outstanding party assures the governor of its fullest cooperation and accommodation in the APC family as we continue to grow the party and work together towards the full realisation of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the good and benefit of all Nigerians.”

Eno left the PDP for the APC on Friday.

He stated he joined the APC to fully support President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies.

“We are not joining the APC from a position of weakness; we are joining the APC from a position of strength,” said the politician.

Eno defected a few weeks after his Delta State counterpart, Sheriff Oborevwori, deserted the PDP for the APC.

Two weeks ago, the governor directed his commissioners and appointees to join the APC or quit.
