Atiku Not Have Been Destined To Become Nigeria’s President — Bwala

Presidential advisor Daniel Bwala has suggested that Atiku Abubakar, his former boss and Nigeria’s vice president, might not have been born to hold the office of president.

“There is my former principal who believes that he is going to win,” Bwala remarked on Monday, ignoring the prospects of Atiku and other opposition coalition leaders like Peter Obi and Rotimi Amaechi to depose President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Since he has fulfilled every requirement for the presidency, yet was still unsuccessful in his bid for the office, I have long held the belief that God may not have intended for him to hold that office in Nigeria.

For Atiku Abubakar, my former principal, the year 2023 was the pinnacle of opportunity. “That type of privilege will never be extended to him again,” he declared.

Bwala, who shifted allegiance to Tinubu months ago, was an Atiku campaign spokesman in the 2023 election.

To remove Tinubu, whom they accuse of leading the country backwards, from office, the opposition leaders gathered last week and decided to build a coalition based on the African Democratic Party (ADC).

Bwala, however, downplayed their threat, claiming that they have failed to offer any viable alternatives to the current administration that would sway Nigerians to choose them.

“It continues to fascinate me that these politicians who have been domestically displaced have not mustered the guts to propose different facts, policies, or programs.

He stated, “What I find is that he has not been able to counter or disagree in the real sense of the word with the policies that we are implementing.” This assertion was made during the interview with Peter Obi.

Bwala further downplayed the opposition leaders’ challenge to Tinubu’s presidency by claiming that the newly formed alliance won’t be there for more than six months.

He claimed that Tinubu will have an easier time in 2027 due to the coalition’s disintegration caused by the fight over the newly designated ADC flagbearer.

Once a phenomena like that occurs, everyone knows that for two or three weeks there will be a lot of idealising about how “we have ideas, we can do this”—the coalition fantasy.

“However, Datti Baba-Ahmed, one of their number, has already seen the danger they face; he has stated that, at the moment, “everyone wants to be the president,” which is the main issue with this coalition.

According to Bwala, “that coalition thing will not even be a conversation, they will scatter” after one month of sitting down. “I am telling you on my own honour,” he continued.
