Governor Fintiri imposes 24-hour curfew on Lamurde Local Government Area.
Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON, has ordered a 24-hour curfew in Lamurde Local Government Area, effective immediately.
According to a statement from the governor’s chief press secretary, Humwashi Wonosoiku, violent attacks and breaches of peace were reported in certain communities in the area.
The governor deemed the unrest unacceptable and instructed security personnel to strictly enforce the curfew. The statement says that breaking this order will lead to arrest and legal action.
The curfew begins immediately and will last until further notice.
Governor Fintiri has also asked security agencies to enforce the curfew and preserve order in the area. Residents are asked to follow the curfew and submit relevant information to security services to maintain peaceful cohabitation.
The governor stressed that the government will not tolerate acts of violence and will take all necessary steps to restore peace and order. He urged residents of the Lamurde Local Government Area to stop spreading rumours and work with security officials to restore normalcy in the area.
“The government is committed to protecting lives and property and ensuring the safety of all citizens.” He said.
