Governor Fintiri Condoles with Buhari’s Family in Daura

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State on Wednesday paid a condolence visit to Daura, Katsina State, to sympathize with the family of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away in London earlier this week at the age of 82.

The governor was accompanied by Senator Aminu Iya Abbas (representing Adamawa Central) and former Minister Dr. Aliyu Idi Hong. He conveyed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the government and people of Adamawa State.

Speaking to journalists, Governor Fintiri described the passing of the former president as a profound national loss. He praised Buhari’s enduring legacy of patriotism, integrity, and transparency, noting that his contributions to Nigeria will remain indelible.

“The late President Buhari was a symbol of humility and accountability,” Fintiri said. “His passing is deeply felt across the country. He was a leader par excellence who devoted his life to the service of our nation with honesty and diligence.”

He urged the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with strength and fortitude, offering prayers for the repose of the late president’s soul and asking Almighty God to grant him eternal rest in Aljannah.

Reflecting on the nature of life, Governor Fintiri remarked, “Death is inevitable for every mortal. It is a reminder for us all to live with purpose and prepare for the hereafter.”

The governor was warmly received by Dr. Mahmoud Modi Halilu, the younger brother of President Buhari’s widow, who expressed gratitude for the governor’s visit and his comforting words during this time of mourning.
