Gov. Fintiri Congratulates DIG Dankwara on Promotion

YOLA, Nigeria (AP) — Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has congratulated Assistant Inspector General of Police Dankwara Adamu Mohammed on his promotion to Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) and his appointment as the North-East representative on the Police Management Team.

In a statement by his chief press secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, Fintiri described the elevation as a recognition of hard work, discipline, and years of dedicated service to the Nigeria Police Force and the nation.

He said the promotion comes at a time when Nigeria needs experienced and patriotic officers to strengthen internal security and build public trust in law enforcement.

“DIG Dankwara Mohammed has, over the years, distinguished himself as a thoroughbred professional whose commitment to duty and nation-building serves as a model for younger officers,” Fintiri said. “His elevation is both a personal honor and a collective pride to the North-East region.”

The governor expressed confidence that the new DIG will apply his experience, integrity, and leadership to improve national security, particularly in tackling challenges facing the North-East.

Fintiri also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working with security agencies to maintain peace and order across Adamawa State.

He prayed for God’s guidance and wisdom for DIG Dankwara as he takes on his new role in service to the nation.
