Governor Fintiri mourns Bayelsa deputy governor Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has paid a heartfelt tribute to Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, who died after a brief illness at the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, the Governor described the late Ewhrudjakpo as “a steady, principled public servant whose loyalty to his people and commitment to governance earned him deep respect across political lines.”

Governor Fintiri said he was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the sudden death, noting that Senator Ewhrudjakpo embodied integrity, trust, and a rare devotion to public duty.

He extended his condolences to the bereaved family, friends, and associates of the late Deputy Governor, and to Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri, whom he urged to take solace in the enduring legacy Ewhrudjakpo leaves behind.

The Governor praised the late Deputy Governor’s contributions to the development of Bayelsa State, describing him as a courageous and determined leader whose work “will continue to resonate with future generations.”

Governor Fintiri prayed for God to grant strength to the grieving family and eternal rest to the departed, adding that his memory would remain a blessing to the people of Bayelsa State and Nigeria at large.
