Easter: Bakari calls for love, peaceful coexistence among Adamawa residents

Dr Salihu Bakari Girei, a gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, has extended warm Easter greetings to Christians in Adamawa State, urging them to embrace the values of sacrifice, love and unity that define the season.

In his goodwill message, Bakari called on Christians to reflect on the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, describing it as a symbol of hope, renewal and victory over adversity. He noted that Easter serves as a reminder that even in the face of suffering, there is always the promise of restoration and new beginnings.

He encouraged residents to use the period to promote peace and strengthen bonds of unity across communities, stressing that Adamawa’s progress depends on collective harmony and mutual respect among its people.

Bakari also urged Christians to extend love and compassion to the less privileged, calling on them to support those in need in line with the teachings of Christ. According to him, acts of kindness and generosity are essential in building a more inclusive and caring society.

Reflecting on the challenges facing the state, he emphasised the need for resilience and faith, urging citizens to remain hopeful and committed to the common good. He added that religious devotion should not only be expressed in words but demonstrated through positive actions that benefit society.

Bakari further called on residents to avoid actions capable of causing division, urging them instead to uphold the values of tolerance, forgiveness and peaceful coexistence.

He wished Christians a joyful and peaceful Easter celebration, expressing hope that the season would bring renewed strength, unity and prosperity to Adamawa and its people.
