Fintiri calls for unity, compassion in Easter message

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has extended goodwill to Christians in Adamawa State as they mark Easter, urging residents to embrace the values of sacrifice, unity and renewal that define the season.

In a statement issued by his chief press secretary, Humwashi Wonosoiku, the governor encouraged citizens to reflect on the suffering and resurrection of Jesus Christ, describing it as a powerful reminder that hardship is not permanent and can give way to hope and triumph.

Fintiri said Easter symbolises selflessness and redemption, calling on residents to embody these ideals by promoting peace, tolerance and mutual understanding.

He urged the people of the state to remain united and committed to building a society grounded in harmony and forgiveness, where individuals support one another regardless of differences.

The governor also called on Christians to demonstrate love in practical ways during the season by reaching out to the less privileged and offering support to those in need.

Reflecting on the state’s progress, he stressed the importance of gratitude to God for sustaining Adamawa through challenging periods, adding that faith should be evident in everyday actions and relationships.

Fintiri warned against division and urged residents not to be swayed by influences that could undermine unity, while encouraging a culture of hard work, responsibility and self-reliance.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, and to deploying the necessary resources to strengthen peace and stability across the state.

The governor wished Christians a joyful Easter celebration, adding that true distinction lies in actions that positively impact others and contribute to the common good.
