Bakari praises Tinubu’s reforms after APC screening exercise

Adamawa State governorship aspirant, Dr Salihu Bakari, has scaled the All Progressives Congress (APC) screening exercise ahead of the party’s primary election for the 2027 governorship race in the state.

The screening, which was held in Abuja on Saturday, was conducted by the APC National Screening Committee.

Dr Bakari was accompanied to the venue by the Chairman of his Campaign Council, alongside other prominent sons and daughters of Adamawa State.

Speaking with journalists after the exercise, Bakari described the screening as seamless and expressed appreciation to the party leadership for what he called the warm reception accorded to him and other aspirants.

“From what you have seen, the screening was just a quick exercise. The party has seen what we have done, and they are appreciating it. We thank God,” he said.

Bakari also used the occasion to commend President Bola Tinubu for what he described as bold economic reforms, particularly the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange market.

According to him, the measures were courageous decisions that had placed Nigeria on the path to economic recovery.

He further praised the APC for its growing political strength across the country, noting that the party had expanded from controlling about 21 states after the 2023 general election to positioning itself for further gains ahead of the 2027 polls.
