FUAMB hails Fintiri as state donates school bus to support varsity operation

The Adamawa State Government has donated a school bus to the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi (FUAMB), in a move that reinforces its commitment to higher education and strengthens its partnership with the institution.

The vehicle was formally handed over in Yola on Friday, with the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Bitrus Dawi Tarfa, receiving it on behalf of the university.

The donation fulfils part of the requests presented by the university’s management during a recent courtesy visit to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, reflecting the state government’s continued support for the growth and development of the federal institution.

Receiving the vehicle on behalf of the Governing Council, Senate, management, staff and students, Professor Tarfa described the gesture as both timely and significant. He said the bus would greatly improve the university’s transportation capacity and support the smooth delivery of its academic, administrative and community engagement programmes.

The Vice-Chancellor expressed the university’s appreciation to Governor Fintiri, saying the donation demonstrated the administration’s commitment to investing in education and creating an enabling environment for higher institutions to thrive.

To ensure the vehicle was put to immediate use, Professor Tarfa directed that it be serviced, fuelled and certified roadworthy shortly after the handover. The bus is expected to support official university activities, including academic engagements, administrative assignments and outreach programmes.

Professor Tarfa also commended Governor Fintiri for his consistent support for educational development in Adamawa State, noting that the gesture would further enhance the university’s ability to fulfil its teaching, research and community service mandate.
