Fintiri praises Tinubu over conduct of Osun governorship poll

Adamawa state governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has congratulated Osun state governor, Ademola Adeleke, following his victory in the state’s governorship election.

Fintiri said the outcome reflected the choice of Osun voters, describing the result as an endorsement of Adeleke’s leadership and the direction of his administration.

In a statement issued by his chief press secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, the Adamawa governor said Adeleke’s victory represented an opportunity for the governor to consolidate his administration’s programmes and continue working to improve the lives of residents.

Fintiri also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over his handling of the electoral process, saying the president had demonstrated respect for democratic principles by allowing voters’ choice to prevail.

According to him, democracy is strengthened when electoral outcomes are respected regardless of political affiliations.

He urged political leaders, parties and other stakeholders in Osun state to accept the result and work together in the interest of the state.

Fintiri said the focus should now shift from the election to governance, urging Adeleke’s opponents and supporters alike to support efforts aimed at advancing the state.

He wished the Osun governor continued wisdom and strength in discharging his responsibilities.
