Fintiri urges peaceful coexistence as Muslims mark Eid Maulud

Adamawa state governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has congratulated Muslims in the state, Nigeria and around the world on the occasion of Eid Maulud, marking the birth of the Prophet Muhammad.

In a statement by the chief press secretary to the governor, Humwashi Wonosikou, Fintiri described the birth of the Prophet as a defining moment that brought a message of mercy, guidance and hope to humanity. He said the Prophet’s teachings remained a lasting example of compassion, honesty, humility, justice and service to others.

Fintiri urged residents of Adamawa to use the celebration to reflect on the values associated with the Prophet and strengthen their commitment to peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and unity.

He called on citizens to emulate the Prophet’s virtues of kindness, forgiveness, sacrifice and fairness, saying such values were important for building stronger communities and promoting national cohesion.

The governor also urged Muslims and other residents of the state to pray for peace, stability and prosperity in Adamawa and Nigeria, particularly as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections intensify.

He said his administration would continue to prioritise security, good governance and the welfare of citizens, while urging residents to support efforts to maintain peace and avoid actions capable of creating tension or division.

Fintiri stressed the importance of peaceful relations among people of different religious and social backgrounds, saying unity was essential to the continued development of Adamawa.

He wished Muslim faithful a peaceful and spiritually rewarding Eid Maulud celebration and prayed that the occasion would bring renewed hope, progress and prosperity to the state.
