El-Rufai directs supporters to vote ADC candidates in 2027 elections
Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has directed his supporters to vote for African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidates in all elective positions in the 2027 general elections.
The directive was conveyed by the party’s North-West Vice-Chairman, Hafsat Baba, during a coalition meeting of support groups loyal to the former governor in Kaduna State.
El-Rufai urged his supporters to remain united, peaceful and law-abiding while mobilising support for the ADC ahead of the elections.
Baba said the directive covered the presidential, governorship, National Assembly and State House of Assembly elections across Kaduna State’s 23 local government areas.
She explained that the meeting was convened to unite the various support groups and coordinate their political activities ahead of the elections.
The ADC chieftain also disclosed that the coalition planned to establish a database of El-Rufai’s supporters across the state and maintain regular engagements to strengthen its mobilisation efforts.
According to her, the supporters were committed to sustaining what she described as El-Rufai’s legacy, particularly in education, healthcare and empowerment.
Baba, however, expressed concern over insecurity in parts of Kaduna State, specifically mentioning Birnin Gwari, Giwa and Millennium City.
She called on security agencies to intensify efforts to protect residents and their property.
The ADC vice-chairman further alleged that more than 30 supporters of the former governor had been arrested about two weeks before the meeting.
She questioned what she described as repeated arrests of El-Rufai’s loyalists and urged security agencies to remain impartial and discharge their responsibilities in accordance with the Constitution.
