Fintiri took over from Nyako in 2014, As it was same 2014 that landed your principal into trouble with EFCC – Ibrahim blasts Fintiri’s media aide, Kumangar

Solomon Kumangar lacks status of media aide to a governor, suffering from ‘power syndrome’

The Chairman United Group Committee against Corruption, Ibrahim Mohammed on Monday said Fintiri’s media aide, Solomon Kumangar is suffering from what he called “excitement over stepping foot on the corridor of power syndrome”.

He said this while reacting to recent statement credited to Kumangar penultimate week that Bindow squandered all what was left behind by Nyako administration during his radio interview in Yola.

Ibrahim in a statement on Monday said Kumangar lacked the qualities that mark the status of a media aide to a governor, such as quiet dignity, respect, discretion, decorum, discipline unlike other past media aides of former governors from the state.

The statement read: “Kumangar does not have a single one of these qualities. We have had a number of former media aides to governors in Adamawa state, namely Raymond Dokpesi, Namdaz, Mai Jamaa, and Martins Dickson.

“All of these have exercised discretion, restraint and self-discipline in relation to their utterances towards their principal’s predecessors, but not Kumangar.

“Kumangar’s “boisterous, aggressive and hectoring attitude” towards Sen. Bindow meant he was suffering from the effects of coming back to corridor of power after the 2014 emergency exit of his principal Umaru Fintiri.

“It strikes me as a case of one who has amnesia, if not it is reckless of Kumangar to claim that Bindow took over from Nyako, it is on record that his principal led assembly plotted Nyako’s removal from office in 2014 and eventually Fintiri found himself in government house in 2014, how could Kummangar accused Bindow of squandering all what Nyako left Behind in 2014?

“Is Kumangar not aware of the pending trial of Gov. Fintiri of Adamawa State, and one other, charged with N2.9billion fraud? Or he has forgotten that it was same 2014 that  landed his principal into trouble with the EFCC or Kumangar is delusional that Fintiri  is being prosecuted on a 5-count charge of bribery and money laundering alongside Mayim Construction and Properties Limited, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

He was alleged to have defrauded the Adamawa government by laundering money to the tune of N2.9billion through his naira and dollar accounts domiciled at Ecobank Plc. The defendant is also accused of making large cash payment for the purchase of landed property in Abuja during the three months he held sway as the governor of the state.

Kumangar has also forgotten the petition written by Welye dated May 11, 2015 to the EFCC, alleged that the first defendant (Fintiri) fraudulently diverted N497million meant for the construction of a lecture theatre for the Faculty of Law, Adamawa State University, Mubi, laying only the foundation and never completed the project.

Kumangar should be reminded that it was the activities of his principal when he was acting governor in 2014 that He was first arraigned on June 30, 2016 for allegedly defrauding the state by laundering money to the tune of N1.9 billion through his naira and dollar bank accounts. He is also accused of making large cash payment for the purchase of landed property in Abuja during the time he served as acting governor of Adamawa State.

He is also alleged to have during the time he served as acting governor, used N220 million to acquire a property at No 7 Gana Street, Maitama, Abuja, and also repaid a N550 million loan he secured from a bank for the acquisition of a Tea plantation farm from Nigeria Agricultural Bank in Taraba State.

Kumangar’s rude and uncouth attitude towards Sen. Bindow, it is clear that he is addicted to a substance called ‘power’, and is angry and resentful towards Bindow because his principal is still wondering about what to do with the current responsibility given to him as governor,” Ibrahim said.

Ibrahim said Kumangar has never recovered from his power addiction and thinks Bindow is still the governor of Adamawa state, hence reason for backlash on his principal’s predecessor.

“Kummangar is not just immoral, he is worse; he is amoral, i.e., he lacks a sense of right or wrong, Bindow took over from Bala Ngillari not Nyako as alleged by Kumangar.

“Kumangar is a full man. It is now imperative that he learns to exercise some discretion and restraint in his public statements.

“His bombastic, false, misleading and destructive outbursts, are not befitting of a so-called media aide to a governor, let Bindow be! Go to rest if you can make a better image maker!”
