Senator Abbo predicts doom for Fintiri, PDP in Adamawa
Serious troubles are in the offing for the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, and the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP), said Senator Ishaku Elisha Abbo ( PDP Adamawa North).
Senator Abbo who dropped the bombshell in his office in Abuja Monday, during an explosive interview with journalists on the state of things in the country and politics in Adamawa State, declared that for Nigeria to move forward after many years of stagnation within the last 59 years of Nationhood, it must be restructured to be a functional federation.
The looming disaster for governor Fintiri and PDP in Adamawa State according to him, are being caused by the governor himself who he alleged of biting all the fingers that fed him before becoming governor including that of the foremost political leader in the State, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
He said Fintiri is not only destroying PDP in Adamawa State but fighting almost all the stakeholders of the party in the state.
According to Abbo, trouble between him and the governor, started since last year during the party’s primaries for Senatorial candidates after he defeated Fintiri’s loyalist in the election with 464 votes to 74.
“As a result of Fintiri’s pettiness and dictatorship in governance and party affairs in Adamawa State, PDP is not only in intensive care unit in the state but on life support machine for survival.
“The governor is running the party in the state like a gangstar and I don’t and will never eat on the same table with dictators,” he said.
According to him, one of the killer punches the governor had given the party in the state, was the unjustifiable disqualification of 24 party leaders across the various local government areas in the state from participating in local government election.
“The disqualified party stakeholders, their supporters and leaders are no doubt waiting for the appropriate time to strike back at Fintiri which may spell doom not only for him but PDP in the State.
“Fintiri to me , is smaller than the responsibility given him as governor of the state , the very reason he is dragging both the state and PDP down to his petty level.
“He is no doubt, an ingrate who after contributing nothing financially to the running of the party and elections that landed him into office as governor , decided to be fighting those who put him there . He will surely meet his Waterloo soonest because I will fight him to finish along with others “, he vowed .
As for Nigeria at 59, the fire spitting Senator said haven derailed in its journey to nationhood, the country urgently needs to find the right path through restructuring.
“Nigeria must be restructured in finding the right path to development- driven Nationhood because the path anybody or any Nation takes at anytime, determines his or its future.
“Nobody should be threatened by restructuring . It is a necessity for a country that is going backward and not forward in her journey of Nationhood “, he said .
He however, said restructuring of the country into a functional federation as it was from the beginning during the first republic, would have to be in phases with required public enlightenment by those genuinely pushing for it .
