It’s Muslims turn to produce ADSU Mubi Vice Chancellor – Ikwurnyi

Secretary of justice frontier forum, Mapida Ikwurnyi says power shift to Muslim community in Adamawa in the ongoing advertisement for the office of the Vice Chancellor of Adamawa state university, mubi is the best honour that can be bestowed on the Muslims of Adamawa,
Ikwurnyi stated this in Yola, Adamawa State, in an interview with journalists.
He, therefore, advised Gov. Fintiri and the governing council led by Awwal D Tukur to kindly journey back to memory lane as the total years spent by the Christians community in Adamawa as Vice Chancellor of the institution is much more than the Muslims, Fintiri and the chairman of the council to take a step further by handing over the next slot of the Vice chancellor of ADSU to a Muslim for equity.
“The governor and indeed our Christians brother must beware of divisive elements who are now proponents of retaining the next slot of the Vice Chancellor to us the Christians, the statement credited to a member of ADSU management that “no Christians have spent five years as VC of ADSU, Mubi is not tenable as we the Christians fought plot coup for ourselves to get into the shoes of our brothers, by plotting their removal from office” Ikwurnyi said.
“So Messrs Shall, Zaruwa and Kaleptapwa has finish the slot of the Christians, as appointing Kaleptapwa in substantive capacity will amount to tenure elongation for the Christians.
He added, “I have said it before and I believe that the next VC of ADSU Mubi must go to our Muslims brother. Since I made this comment last time, some of our Christians brothers have been hatching a plot to engage in campaign of calumny against my person but I am not moved and I will still hold my ground that next VC of ADSU, Mubi must go to the Muslims.
“If the governor and the council chairman recall, Prof Abdurahman Gaji a Muslim was the first Vice chancellor of ADSU, Mubi follow by Dr. Kwargah, then Prof. Alkasum Abba, immediately Alkasum’s tenure ended, Prof. Joshua Shall a Christian was appointed to replace Alkassum Abba, Zaruwa a Christian replaced Shall and finally Prof. Kaleptapwa that continue to act for about three years now in defiant of the law setting up the University.
“So a combined look at the years spent as Vice Chancellor by we the Christains of Adamawa outweigh that of our Muslim brothers, Gov. Fintiri have shied away from talking or acting about it because of the controversy arising from the date and fear of being scandalized but this is what equity demand, respect, rule of law and honour for those that are sideline all these years
“It was not marked to spite or contradict anyone but to celebrate the common value we share in the belief in equity and fairness”.
