AS A GOVERNOR, BINDOW APPOINTED MORE CHRISTIANS THAN MUSLIMS-Group
The chairman, Adamawa First initiative, Ibrahim luka says Sen. Jibrilla Bindow appointed more Christians than Muslims in his days as a governor in Adamawa.
Speaking when he played host to a delegation of the youth wing of All Progressive congress in Abuja, on Tuesday, Ibrahim debunked reports and the statement credited to one Medan Zethan Fwa that Bindow gave appointments to more Muslims than Christians and that was responsible for APC losing Adamawa to PDP in 2019.
He called on religious leaders and party faithful to work towards building a strong and unified state, and avoid insinuations that could divide the populace, especially along religious lines.
“Some voices, for political or ethnic reasons, are making unguarded statements accusing the Bindow’s government of religious bias,” he said.
“Let me assure you, our youths that this is far from the truth. In Bindow’s political journey as a governor and politician, he has never veered from his oath of office.
“When Bindow had the honour to lead Adamawa state as governor there were more Christians in the state executive council (SEC) and the appointments giving under Bindow’s watch.
“This was not by design but Bindow appointed people on their merit without the slightest bias. The State executive council under Bindow (SEC) was also evenly balanced; again not by design but by Bindow respecting and rewarding individual qualities.”
Luka listed Christian’s appointees under Bindow as follows;
- Amos Edgar Head of service Christian
- Justice Banu Adamawa C.J Christian
- Kaletapwa Farauta VC ADSU, MUbi Christian
- Johnson Pongri COE, Hong Christian
- Nuhu I Musa College of Health, Mubi Christian
- P Power local government commission Christian
- Lmaurde Local government pension Christian
- Augustine W. Accountant general Christian
- Yohana Mathias Chief press Christian
- Martins Dickson Special assistant on Media Christian
- Hunohasi Special assistant on Media Christian
- Bafyau RAMP2 Christian
- John Stephen ADSACA Christian
Luka said religious and party leaders have the responsibility of creating an enabling environment for peace and development to thrive, one wonder why one Maden Fwa will speak on issues he knew nothing about.
Luka Challenge Medan Zethan Fwa to cross checks the appointees of the present government of PDP in Adamawa and that of Bindow, he will know that Bindow favour more Christians than Muslims.
“Out of Bindow’s 23 commissioners 12 are Christians, we are calling on Medan Fwa to retract the reckless and gutter statements credited to him against Bindow or we expose him even to his bedroom secret”.
