Gombi/Hong Youths cautions APC, Captain Buba over alleged third term agenda

Youth’s group from Gombi/Hong federal constituency of Adamawa state yesterday cautioned the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the member representing Gombi/Hong federal constituency, Yusuf Captain Buba against purported plans to push a third term agenda for Rep. Buba

In a statement issued by its Publicity Secretary, Helamada Zakari, it described the alleged plot as a dangerous underhand politics capable of derailing the peaceful co-existence between the two local councils that make up the federal constituency and democracy.

It also described the statements from Rep. Buba and the APC as unhealthy ploy to introduce a repugnant issue into official discourse in a bid to give it a life and achieve its fruition in Gombi/Hong politics.

“It is preposterous for Captain Buba, his cabal and the APC to think that the people of Gombi/Hong cannot see through their shenanigan to import and elevate what they labelled as rumour and internet-based gossip, into official discourse.

“Our group notes that the people of Gombi/Hong will not be surprised when, after the statements by Captain Buba that “nobody can play God” in reaction to the alleged plan to foist himself on the people, it is also not surprising that Buba and the APC, new groups surfaced to orchestrate more forceful agitations in the public space for the alteration of the gentle man agreement of power rotation between the two local councils to achieve an ignoble aim,” the statement added.

The Group urged Adamawa APC leadership to speak out and immediately call Captain Buba and his supporters to order as Gombi/Hong would not allow anybody, no matter how highly placed, to alter any part of the gentle man agreement of power rotation to serve a selfish interest.

Besides, the group has sought the arrest and prosecution of campaigners and sponsors of third term for Captain Buba because what they were advocating was treasonable and amounts to coup plotting against other council members that are due to replace Buba in 2023.

The group insisted that such moves should not be swept under the carpet or explained away through Captain Buba media propaganda.

Reacting in a statement by Mr. Godwin Haniel, has called on the member representing Gombi/Hong federal constituency, Yusuf Captain Buba to reject the alleged third term gambit, saying it was being proposed by the infamous banana peel anti-democrats and unpatriotic elements, whose sole objective was to truncate the peace enjoy by the people of Gombi/Hong and to tarnish the Buba’s image.
