Independence: Atiku pours encomium on Fintiri
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has described Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state as a true example of a patriot and democrat.
Atiku poured the encomium on Wednesday, in a congratulatory message marking Nigeria 60th Independence.
Former Vice President Atiku congratulated Fintiri on the milestone.
He remarked that the Governor have been underscored with memories of great achievements like turning Adamawa state to construction and development hub within few months in office as Governor of the state, winning a gubernatorial election in 2019, and providing visionary leadership to unseat an incumbent government for the first time in Adamawa’s history.
The former Vice President affirmed that the Governor set a standard for consistency, honesty and integrity in Adamawa’s politics as he championed building of strong democratic institutions, and promoted the virtue of looking beyond elections and positions to growing and unifying Adamawa for posterity.
Former Vice President Atiku believed Governor Fintiri’s depth of wisdom, maturity, tolerance and penchant for always putting the interest of the state above self should serve as a lesson to both old and younger political actors, that the greatest investment for building a state is personal sacrifice.
“Your Excellency, your recent infrastructure development strides will forever change the landscape and economic fortunes of Adamawa. You have exhibited the highest quality of leadership for the diverse ethnicities of our state. Indeed am a proud citizen of Adamawa state under your stewardship” Atiku said.
