FACT-CHECK: Documents show Ishaku Abbo lied in claiming to have influence Tsamiya – Bazza Road (Mubi to Michika) through NEDC
The claim by the senator representing Adamawa north in the Nigerian senate, Ishaku Abbo that he influences the construction of Tsamiya – Bazza Road (Mubi to Michika) contract through the North east development commission is false, an investigation by THE FINDER has shown.
Also untrue, our findings show, is Mr. Abbo’s claim that President Muhammadu Buhari approved the contract under his watch since he was sworn into senate.
In his controversial Facebook post, Mr. Abbo had, among other allegations, claims to have influence the construction of Tsamiya – Bazza Road (Mubi to Michika) contract through North east development commission with support from the member representing Mubi North, Mubi south and Maiha in the Nigerian House of representative, Jafar Magaji.
But THE FINDER can report authoritatively today that Mr. Abbo was economical with the truth as far as this particular contract is concerned.
The contract was neither awarded by Northeast development commission nor influence by Messrs Abbo and Jafar Magaji nor was it ever approved by Mr. Buhari under Abbo’s watch as a senator.
In a document sighted by this newspaper, Mr. Abbo, contrary to what he post via his Facebook page did not indicate anywhere that the Northeast development commission is responsible for the construction of that particular road.
Our findings showed that Tsamiya – Bazza Road (Mubi to Michika) is a grant from Federal government to Adamawa state government in 2017 under the administration of Sen. Jibrilla Bindow, which has Maurice Vonoboki as co-ordinator. The project was awarded by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri and will soon be flag off by the governor.
Those familiar with contracting procedures of Tsamiya – Bazza Road (Mubi to Michika) said there was no way Mr. Abbo and the Northeast development commission could have awarded the contract as grants can only be given to state government not a senator or the Northeast development commission as alleged by Ishaku Abbo.
CONCLUSION: Mr. Abbo Facebook post to the public not supports his claim that the Tsamiya – Bazza Road (Mubi to Michika) project was awarded via Northeast development commission nor has any influence of Ishaku Abbo.

The President first approved Tsamiya – Bazza Road (Mubi to Michika) fully paid for by NEDC through MCRP then Hospital Road in Michika which was also funded through MCRP a unit now in NEDC
The President also through the Ministry of Agriculture and rural development has awarded the contract for the construction of KWA – BETSO rural road in Mubi North, Adamawa Northern Senatorial District. This road has been abandoned for over 30 years.
