Adamawa State Polytechnic shut over students protest.

The management of the Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola, has closed the institution, ordering students to proceed on a long vacation after a protest by students over the management decision to suspend the “student signing out ceremony” for final year student of the Polytechnic.

 

This has added to the growing number of Polytechnic recently closed down due to students’ unrest.

 

A circular issued by the institution’s management on Thursday directed students to leave their residence halls and proceed on a long vacation while suspending academic activities till further notice.

 

A student identified himself as Mohammed told THE FINDER that the management directed that students leave the school by 4 pm on Thursday.

 

“I have no intention to leave my room, but if they chase us out, then I will have to go,” he said.

 

investigation reveals that the crisis erupted due to the management decision to stop the graduating students from holding the alleged “signing out ceremony.”
