Fintiri to council chairmen: no evidence of projects, no reelection

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has told local government chairpersons seeking reelections to show proofs why they deserve second terms in office.

The governor warned that any council boss, who failed to show evidence of meaningful projects, should not bother seeking reelection.

Fintiri, who spoke during PDP stakeholder meetings in the government house, Yola said performance should be a precondition for reelection on Wednesday.

The governor also uses the opportunity to enumerate all his achievements in office and score self-high on the state’s infrastructure development under his watch.

He said: “I have made it clear that if you perform well, you will come back, and if you did not perform, you wouldn’t return.

“We want to work with those who can deliver; we don’t do rhetorics. There is no way a lion can produce a goat. We have an administration that has transformed the landscape of Adamawa State with projects.

“LGA Chairmen should present their project scorecard to save the face of the party in the state that is the only condition for reelection.”

He described local government authority as the most critical government tier, saying his administration constructed internal roads, markets, renovation of schools, among others.
