MAU, VC, Tukur denies lobbying Fintir for appointments, contracts

The Vice-Chancellor, Modibo Adamawa University, Yola, Prof. Liman Tukur, has described the allegation that he influence 90 per cent of appointments and contracts made by the governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, as a politically motivated falsehood.

Mr Tukur maintained that the onus of proving that he influence most appointments and contract made by Fintiri is on those that allege.

The Vice-Chancellor explained in response to a story published by this medium, where a civil society organisation accused Tukur of building an empire within Fintiri’s government by influencing the appointments of most members of his MAU community and also influencing the name of companies that benefit from contracts under Fintiri.

Mr Tukur, in a text message to our correspondent, said, “He who alleges should be the one to be questioned – to substantiate. I have enough to attend to, can’t lend myself to those who have nothing to do but to allege.
