Defection: Group blasts Yohana Mathias, alleging former chief press secretary suffering from Amnesia.

GROUP under the aegis of Adamawa People of Conscience, A-POC, has urged politicians in Adamawa State and across the country to desist from acts targeted at tarnishing the image of Governor Umaru Fintiri as it portends danger to effective governance.

The group in a statement signed by its chairman, Mathias Pwanovi and secretary, Muhammad Kabir and made available to newsmen in Yola, observed with dismay that it is gradually becoming a norm with the APC in members in the state, to distract the government of the day from focusing on governance.

A-POC stated that the trend is not in the best interest of the and its people as it throws spanners in the works of governance and the running of affairs of the state.

“It is pertinent to note that Governor Umaru Fintiri has but a few months to complete his first four years in office as Governor, politicians across divides should be supporting him in the interest of the Adamawa people.

“What political goals do his critics, particularly the former chief press secretary to ex-governor Bindow, Yohana Mathias want to achieve blaming the governor for the crisis that engulf APC in Adamawa state or the recent action of the state house of assembly that declared vacant some members seat due to defection to other political parties.

what will it benefit him and his sponsors by bringing up unfounded allegations of the governor influencing the assembly to declare vacant seats of some defected members to another party.

“The situation where allegations of influencing the ADSHA which borders on the integrity of Governor Umaru Fintiris person without concrete evidence should be avoided and discouraged.

“It is worthy of note that leaders who want to build and develop the state do not have to destroy their leaders by making unguarded and damaging statements. What they should do which is also in the interest of the state is to speak words that show them to be intending leaders who will build on the structures of their predecessors.

“This is why would-be leaders are expected to toe the line of peace and must have all the necessary facts before making grave allegations against Governor Fintiri is holding the state in trust for the people of Adamawa, as they also aspire into leadership positions.

“Yohana Mathias may be suffering from memory loss, several courts judgements declaring the vacant seat of parliamentarians that defected to other parties without evidence of crisis are numerous to mention.

Yakubu Dogara seat was declared vacant and several others in Nigeria, we expect the former chief press secretary utterances should be guided by truth and above all, he should have solid evidence which should be the basis upon which such allegations are made.

“Even the blind man in Adamawa knows that crisis rocking the APC culminated in forcefully removing their state chairman and the division between the members of the state working committee of the party in Adamawa between Ribadu on one hand and Aishatu Binani on the other hand.

“Moreover, Governor Fintiri has said time without number that his administration will never interfere with other arms of government in Adamawa,” the group further stated.
