Adamawa: Ex DIG, former Perm Sec denies involvement in the Dingle Uboh community tussles.

A retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, Philemon Leha, and a former permanent secretary in Adamawa State, Mr. Kennedy Dauda, have reiterated that they have no hand in the land dispute between the Dingle Uboh and Wanela Wagowang communities of the Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa.

In a statement they put out on Friday, Messrs. Leha and Kennedy said that they have nothing to do with the land dispute between Dingle Uboh and Wanela Wagowang, either directly or indirectly.

They claimed that the conflict between the Dingle Uboh and the Wanela Wagowang began much earlier.

They said that they only tried to find a peaceful solution to the problem by holding a series of peace talks with the people involved.

They emphasised that even while they were meditating on the land dispute, they only appealed for a peaceful resolution of the matter and at no time imposed their opinion on the two parties.

Barr. Ehimikhuai G. M. O., Counsel to Messrs. Kennedy Dauda and Philemon Ibrahim Leha, denied the claim.

He said that the story was “not true, funny, disgusting, and a blatant lie,” and that it didn’t have any proof to back it up.

He said that “the services rendered by these two individuals point to the fact that their contributions to the development of their community mean that Demsa, Adamawa, and Nigeria at large have nothing to gain if the community they helped to develop gets destroyed due to unnecessary conflict.”

“Therefore, it is very unfortunate for someone to cook up this type of malicious statement just to tarnish their names.”

“These are loving people who have used their positions and connections for the development of their area rather than engaged in inciting violence in their land.”

Barr. Ehimikhuai further stated that it is also false to accuse Mr. Kennedy Dauda of often bailing Nehemiah Garba from the police station and also blocking any plans to take him to court to face justice. “For your information, Mr. Kennedy has never been to any police station to solicit for the bail of Nehemiah,” he declared.

He asked everyone to ignore this false story because it could upset the peace that people in the area are currently enjoying.

He gave the following persons: Baka Dafa Dingle, Hebron Chindo, Bamanga Chindo, and one other, a fourteen-day ultimatum starting from Monday, February 13, 2023, to withdraw or retract the allegations and apologise to his clients using the same medium, as failure or refusal to do so will compel them to seek legal redress.

The finding by The Finder Newspaper revealed that the duo have no hand in the matter but rather are champions of peace, development, and unity among their people.
